This is a segment from KCOY/CBS News about Rich's life as part of a magic series. It describes how Rich's unique start to life paved the way for his abilities in magic and more!
Challenges are gifts in disguise!
As part of a series of commercials for Dream for Kids and Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Rich used his magic and "local celebrity" to encourage the community to help with various non-profit events and literacy in youth.
Rich did not learn to read until he was adopted at the age of 12.
This is the shortened documentary that started it all. Around 2004, Rich was approached by the board of directors at Dream for Kids and was asked to speak at a charity dinner. A version of this "Rags to Riches" video was played and Rich shared his story for the first time.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America and other mentoring and youth programs are highly important to Rich as a way to give back. This "little" spoke about his success with Rich as his mentor during a BBBS dinner and fundraiser in 2012.
This is an interview with Big Brothers Rich and Joshua. It does not have much to do with the Magic Makers program, but it was a big part of the beginnings of the steps that lead to Motivational Speaking. If you have ever considered mentoring, Big Brothers Big Sisters is amazingly rewarding.
